The webinar course consists of five sessions held from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm and in co-operation with AWA AUSSENWIRTSCHAFTS-AKADEMIE.
In this advanced training course, you will deepen and expand your knowledge of EU customs law. The webinar provides an in-depth understanding of key customs procedures and legal concepts, including customs declarations, tariff classification, customs valuation, origin of goods, customs debt law and export control.
Through practical examples and case studies, you will learn how to avoid common errors, minimise risks and handle complex customs transactions more efficiently in your daily work.
Attendance at this webinar will allow the consolidation and expansion of knowledge of European customs law. This will facilitate a more profound comprehension of the procedures in the customs department and the clearance processes at customs offices and render them more efficient.
The webinar will be held in English.
It consists of five sessions taking place from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm on 22–24 and 27–28 July 2026 and is held in co-operation with AWA AUSSENWIRTSCHAFTS-AKADEMIE..

Dr. Leonie Zappel
Dr. Leonie Zappel ist Wirtschaftsjuristin und als Programmleitung bei der AWA AUSSENWIRTSCHAFTS-AKADEMIE GmbH tätig. Ihr fachlicher Schwerpunkt liegt im Bereich des Zollrechts, insbesondere im Warenursprung- und Präferenzrecht, in nachhaltigkeitsbezogenen Themen sowie im internationalen Zollrecht.
Zuvor war Frau Zappel als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Mitarbeiterin im Team der Internationalisierung an der Brunswick European Law School (BELS) der Ostfalia Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften tätig. Dort hat sie vertiefte Spezialkenntnisse im Bereich des Europarechts sowie im internationalen Zoll- und Außenwirtschaftsrecht erlangt. Durch zahlreiche Vorträge an internationalen Partneruniversitäten und auf internationalen Konferenzen sowie den stetigen Austausch mit den dortigen Unternehmen hat sie ihr Fachwissen im internationalen Rechtsbereich maßgeblich ausgeweitet. Frau Zappel ist dem interessierten Fachpublikum auch als Autorin zahlreicher Beiträge in Fachzeitschriften zum Zoll- und Außenwirtschaftsrecht bekannt.
